ABOUT
I’m Narek, a children’s book illustrator specializing in picture books and early-reader projects. My work combines expressive character design, colorful environments, and a warm, painterly digital style to create inviting worlds for young audiences.Motion plays an important role in my illustrations. Dynamic poses and unexpected perspectives help scenes feel animated, lively, and emotionally engaging. Color is equally central to my approach-it establishes atmosphere, communicates emotion, and can connect with a reader before a single word is read. Maintaining character and visual consistency throughout each story is also an essential part of my process.Most of my illustrations are created in Adobe Photoshop using digital brushes and painting techniques that retain the warmth and texture of traditional artwork. Procreate is also used when a project calls for it.My artistic foundation includes Bachelor’s degrees in Classical Fine Arts and Illustration, along with professional experience contributing artwork to more than 20 published books.With a detail-oriented, hardworking, and collaborative approach, I enjoy transforming manuscripts into memorable visual stories and embracing new creative challenges.
